We are so excited that Small Business Saturday named PLYTIME as one of their SmallBiz100 Businesses!
This year’s Small Biz 100 features a range of unique independent businesses each contributing to their communities and offering something different. The small businesses have been drawn from every corner of the UK to reflect the vibrancy of the UK’s 5.6 million small businesses so PLYTIME is in fantastic company.
If you didn’t know, the PLYTIME maths tutoring network was founded in 2018, by Lisa & Ian McCartney of PLYT Games, to help children improve maths in a fun and affordable way. Ian and Lisa have always loved learning through play and using their specially designed games to teach small groups of primary aged children maths, they have found a winning formula. The PLYTIME tutoring sessions have been proven to work, they’re endorsed by National Numeracy and most importantly children enjoy them and don’t realise how hard they are working!
Lisa says
We’ve had a fabulous 12 months with some fantastic maths success stories and lovely feedback from our students and now being a Small Biz 100 is just the icing on the cake!
Our aim is now to move PLYTIME Learning Online and build a team of approved PLYTIME Tutors so there’s a “Small PLYTIME Biz” in every town in the country, supporting their communities and helping even more children improve their maths & confidence with numbers whilst having fun.
Small Business Saturday UK is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign, which highlights small business success and encourages consumers to ‘shop local’ and support small businesses in their communities. Now in its seventh year, Small Business Saturday is the UK’s most successful small business campaign
Director of Small Business Saturday, Michelle Ovens MBE said:
Each year this campaign has grown in support from government, business and communities alike, and so we can’t wait to begin the annual 100-day countdown to Small Business Saturday with the launch of the Small Biz 100 2019.
“Small Business Saturday’s increasing popularity means it was harder than ever to choose just 100 of this country’s incredible 5.6 million small businesses to showcase, but we believe those we have chosen are true representatives of the diverse, creative and inspiring heroes at the heart of our communities.”
Each of the 100 businesses will be featured in the 100 days until Small Business Saturday on 7th December and PLYTIME’s big day is the 21st November.
On 21st November PLYTIME will be celebrated on all @SmallBizSatUK social platforms and to mark their day, PLYTIME will be offering FREE fun maths tips.
We also intend to run local PLYTIME sessions on the 7th December and have offers on our PLYT Games to mark Small Business Saturday. Follow @PLYTIMELearning on facebook to find out more.
