How Can Teachers and Tutors Help With Educational Research?

This is the perfect opportunity to start or expand your tutoring business with minimal hassle, whilst making a real difference to the future of learning support.

In conjunction with Manchester Metropolitan University, we are conducting research to understand the impact of length and frequency of 1-to-1 FOCUS Tutoring sessions on maths performance – and you can be part of it!

Manchester Metropolitan University

Latest studies highlight how primary school children have been affected by school closures during the pandemic, and the suggestions are that they need additional tutoring support. You are perfectly placed to offer that additional support and make a much-needed difference without it being a big drain on your time.

We will be using our revolutionary FOCUS Tutoring for the research project

Unlike traditional tutoring, FOCUS Tutoring makes life much easier for you as a tutor. There is no need to do any additional work outside of the tutoring session (such as preparing content, marking, tracking performance, and searching for students), so you can just concentrate on what you enjoy the most – helping students to be their best – with the support of the Plytime Tutor network around you to help YOU to be your best.

  • Each child will receive 45 minutes of 1-to-1 tutoring support each week for 6 weeks.
  • You are free to choose the hours and days you want to work to fit into your lifestyle and you will be automatically matched to students.
  • The FOCUS Tutoring sessions will be between 15 and 45 minutes in duration
  • and you will be paid at an effective rate of £20 per hour.

Once the project is complete, we’ll share the results with you so that you can see for yourself the impact you’ve made to shape the future of learning support. And you are welcome to remain tutoring on the platform after the research has been completed, if you wish, and we really hope you do!
